Matthew Edwards

Sales Manager, Americas Growth Markets

Matt studied analytical chemistry at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, with particular emphasis on multi-dimensional separations. Matt remains based in Waterloo, from where he oversees SepSolve’s Canadian headquarters and manages the development of new markets and opportunities in the Americas.

Laura McGregor

Head of SepSolve Product Group

Laura holds a Ph.D. in analytical forensic science from the University of Strathclyde, where she applied GCxGC–TOF MS to investigate environmental contamination. She began her career supporting Markes International’s TOF MS and software platforms, working across applications and product marketing. Laura joined SepSolve in 2017, supporting marketing across the product portfolio. As Head of the SepSolve Product Group, she now leads product marketing, aligning development with market needs.

Ian Biggs

Product Service Manager

Ian has over 40 years’ experience of product development, systems design, applications support and instrument servicing in the analytical chemistry business. He has particular expertise in thermal desorption, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry and headspace techniques, acquired in various roles at PerkinElmer and Markes International. Ian joined SepSolve in 2017, where he oversees the company’s service operations, and provides training, support materials and advice to SepSolve and third-party service engineers.

Anthony Buchanan

Global Petrochemical Market Development Manager

Anthony received a master’s degree in Analytical Toxicology at King’s College London in 2012. After completing his degree, Anthony worked at several research contract labs using GC–MS to analyse rubber and polymers alongside environmental matrices for persistent organic pollutants. Since joining SepSolve in 2018, Anthony has held several roles across applications, service, and product management. In his current role, he focuses on driving the adoption of advanced analytical solutions within the global petrochemical sector.

Helena Leask

South East UK Sales Manager

Before joining SepSolve Analytical, Helena worked in the commercial laboratory sector, where she specialised in fuel testing and developed new methods for environmental monitoring using GC–FID, GC–MS and GCxGC–FID. She joined SepSolve in May 2021 as an Applications Chemist, supporting customers through method development, system demonstrations and handovers. Now as South East UK Sales Manager, Helena draws on this technical expertise to guide customers in selecting the best analytical solutions for their needs.

Khaled Murtada

Applications Engineer

Khaled holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. With an extensive background in analytical method development across a range chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques, Khaled has worked for research institutions & companies across Canada, Europe, and the Middle East. Khaled joined SepSolve’s Waterloo team in January 2024 as an Applications Engineer, where he is responsible for developing and demonstrating analytical methods to meet customer specifications, as well as presenting his work at conferences and seminars.

James Ogden

Applications Engineer

James joined SepSolve’s team in Peterborough in December 2021.  He has a wealth of experience in thermal desorption, headspace and liquid injection for GC, GCxGC and GC–MS, and supports our customers through the development, demonstration and handover of analytical methods across our range of instruments and software.
