Our staff have a wealth of expertise in a range of GC-based analytical techniques. Read the biographies below to find out more about what we offer you.
With over 25 years’ experience in the analytical chemistry industry and as a specialist in GC–MS, Bob Green is uniquely well-qualified to offer advice to customers across the whole field.
His background include roles in engineering, applications development, service, technical support and technical/senior sales, and he has worked for or has experience of all the leading brands of GC, GC–MS and associated equipment. Bob’s key strengths are in time-of-flight mass spectrometry, automated sample preparation for GC, headspace sampling and thermal desorption – but his knowledge extends far beyond this.
Aaron studied chemistry at the University of York and following this spent six years working within an environmental analytical laboratory, where he was responsible for developing analytical methods to accredited status for multiple analytical instruments, specialising in GC–MS. In his current position, Aaron is responsible for business development activities for SepSolve’s separations portfolio of products and applications.
Matt studied analytical chemistry at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, with particular emphasis on multi-dimensional separations. Matt remains based in Waterloo, from where he oversees the development of new markets and opportunities in the Americas, as well as providing technical and sales support.
Laura’s background is in analytical forensic science, and her Ph.D. (at the University of Strathclyde, UK) focused on the chemical fingerprinting of environmental contamination using GC×GC−TOF MS. Following roles in application support and product marketing for Markes International’s TOF MS and software portfolios, she joined SepSolve in October 2017, where she oversees marketing activities across the full product range, with a particular focus on GC×GC.
Ian has over 40 years’ experience of product development, systems design, applications support and instrument servicing in the analytical chemistry business. He has particular expertise in thermal desorption, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry and headspace techniques, acquired in various roles at PerkinElmer and Markes International. Ian joined SepSolve in 2017, where he oversees the company’s service operations, and provides training, support materials and advice to SepSolve and third-party service engineers.
Anthony studied forensic science at Staffordshire University, and received a Masters in Analytical Toxicology from King’s College London in 2013. He then worked in the commercial laboratory sector, investigating extractables/leachables from polymers, and persistent organic pollutants in sediments and environmental water samples. In January 2018 he started work at SepSolve's laboratory facilities in Peterborough, UK, where he carries out method development, as well as assisting customers with product installations, method setup and training.
Dave completed his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at McMaster University, Ontario, Canada, focusing on the characterisation of naphthenic acids by GC×GC–TOF MS. Following this, Dave carried out a post-doctoral fellowship at the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in connection with the University of Toronto, where he developed non-target screening methods using GC×GC–HRMS for environmental forensics. Dave joined SepSolve in November 2018, where he develops new GC×GC applications, performs instrument demonstrations, and provides customer training.
Ryan joined SepSolve in October 2018. He develops new applications, performs instrument demonstrations, and provides customer training. Prior to joining SepSolve, Ryan worked within the commercial laboratory sector, where he developed methods for the analysis of environmental contaminants (such as herbicides) using a range of analytical instruments and sample preparation techniques
